Meta 2023 ADCOLOR Creator Panel

As the lead strategist for Meta’s “Reinvest in Us” session at the 2023 ADCOLOR Conference, I was tasked with curating the creator presence and aligning the session with the broader conference theme of “Double Down & Double Up”, emphasizing the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the media landscape. Meta’s roundtable, titled “Reinvest in Us: Bridging the Connection Between Creators & Brands”, focused on how brands, agencies, and creators can work together to drive meaningful engagement and investment in creators from diverse communities.
The discussion, led by Meta’s Ajaa Long, Head of Global Beauty and Luxury, highlighted the power of connection between brands and diverse creators in co-creating authentic, inspiring content that resonates with broader audiences and unlocks growth. I was responsible for selecting the right creators to accompany Meta’s brand host, ultimately partnering with Kahlil Greene, a social justice advocate, and Tania E. Torres, a beauty influencer championing diversity.
My role also involved briefing the creators on what to expect during the discussion and sharing best practices to ensure they were fully prepared. The panel delved into how brands can move beyond surface-level inclusion and instead invest in creators from marginalized communities in ways that are equitable and sustainable.
This session reinforced Meta’s commitment to amplifying diverse voices and providing brands with insights on how to authentically engage with these creators to create meaningful partnerships. It also underscored the importance of investing in underrepresented voices to foster both cultural and business growth.
