Netflix GLOW Launch - Integrated Marketing Coordinator
In 2017, I worked on Shazam's integrated marketing team to support the launch of Netflix's GLOW, leveraging augmented reality (AR) to create an unforgettable, interactive experience. Netflix wanted to generate buzz for the premiere, and AR offered the perfect edge to immerse users in the world of GLOW. By partnering with AR firm Zappar, we created interactive posters that, when scanned through the Shazam app, allowed users to take selfies within the posters and share them on social media. This innovative use of AR was rolled out across OOH, print, cinema, podcasts, and digital, transforming passive ads into engaging, shareable content.
The campaign not only captured user attention but also aligned with the vibrant, retro-futuristic aesthetic of GLOW, creating an authentic and interactive experience that brought the wrestling ring to life for fans and first-time viewers alike. This forward-thinking approach helped drive deeper audience engagement and broader social media reach for the show’s launch.
